C.A.R.B. COMPLIANCE AND FUEL SAVINGS

Aero Devices

You are always looking for ways to lower costs and improve trailer efficiency, and that's why Premier invests so heavily in new technology.

Much of our fleet is equipped with highly durable fuel saving aero devices designed to maximize your tractor trailer fuel efficiency.

All the aero devices we use are SmartWay Verified and C.A.R.B. compliant.

California Air Resources Board (C.A.R.B.)

The State of California has different regulations regarding trailing equipment and diesel engines which require special attention.

  • Any 53' trailing box operating in California is required to have a SmartWay approved C.A.R.B. compliant aerodynamic device and low rolling resistance (LRR) tires, in an effort to save fuel and lower diesel emissions in the State.
  • All transport refrigerated units (TRUs) must be registered with C.A.R.B. and are authorized to operate in California from the original date of engine manufacture plus seven (7) years.
  • All TRU’s 53’ or longer must be equipped with approved aero devices and LRR tires.

Premier voluntarily registers all TRUs with the State of California and displays the registration number on all refrigerated units.

More information regarding C.A.R.B. regulations can be found here.

A large portion of Premier's fleet is C.A.R.B. compliant, if you are planning to operate Premier equipment in the State of California, notify your sales or operations representative to ensure you are issued a compliant trailer.
